Southminster Presbyterian Church Prayer Shawl Ministry

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTERY

Southminster’s Prayer Shawl Group will have its first meeting of the 2011 – 2012 year on Sunday, September 25th, after worship. We will gather in the Conference Room to share patterns, yarn, ideas, and to knit or crochet. We will conclude by 1:15 P.M. This is a great time to come, see what this group does and explore becoming a part of this meaningful ministry. If you would like to learn to knit or crochet, you are welcome to come and members of the group will be glad to get you started! We look forward to another year of ministry and the good fellowship we have with each other!

PRAYER SHAWL GROUP - OCTOBER

We’ll meet in the parlor on Sunday, October 16th, right after worship. Anyone interested in this unique ministry is invited.

PRAYER SHAWL GROUP

The prayer shawl ministry at Southminster is meant to enhance the care of members and the "extended" community of faith by providing a tangible, knitted or crocheted gift to encourage prayer and recognition of God's enduring presence during times of illness, medical treatment, bereavement, and other stressful times.

The ministry is not a craft or fellowship group.  It is conducted as a prayerful, contemplative time of concern for others.  Shawls, lap-robes, and covers are intended to be gifts from Southminster Church and not from individual members, thus reinforcing our unity in the body of Christ.

Items made are dedicated during worship each month.

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY

The Prayer Shawl group will meet in the parlor on various Sundays throughout the year, right after the worship service. All are welcome to come and check out this ministry at Southminster. Please contact the front office for more information.
