Summer Camp 2008
The Southminster Presbyterian Summer Camp is designed to provide children, ages two through six years, with the chance to learn while playing under the supervisions and guidance of teachers who can stimulate the creativity and curiosity of each child. The two-, three-, and four-year old classes are a continuation of our regular preschool program. The five-and six-year old classes focus on kindergarten and first grade skills. The children have the opportunity to develop at their own pace without unnecessary competitive pressure.
Our curriculum and activities are geared to each child's individuality, age, abilities, and interests. The curriculum includes exposure to numerous learning readiness skills designed to expand mental, social, physical, and spiritual growth for our younger students. Older students will continue to develop skills necessary to be successful in early elementary grades.
Hours for the Summer Program program are 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each week day Monday through Friday. You may choose the individual weeks you wish for your child to attend. Parents must submit a copy of each child's immunization record, signed by a physician, and show proof of child's identity at the time of registration if the school does not have these currently on filed. the registration fee is $10.00 per child must be paid at the time of registration and is non-refundable. The cost of the program is $60 per week scheduled. Fees are due on Monday of each week attended. you may pay for the entire summer with one check if you prefer.
Please label all items belonging to your child. Children should bring a light snack in a standard size lunch box or non-vinyl bag each day. Please do not use backpacks as lunch boxes. Children should not wear sandals or flip flops - closed toe shoes are recommended.
We have daily arts and crafts, reading, and language development,, music computer, and big motor skill movements activities. We practice good manners and healthy habits. we want to make sure our children are happy and healthy. Children who are sick are asked to stay home. We hope you and your child will become a part of our summer camp program. Register early to assure a place for your child.
Camp begins Monday June 16th and continues through Thursday July 31st.
