Holy Week

Friends,

Holy Week is upon us and I hope you will join us for our Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services. I hope many of you will come out to hear the passion story told in word and song on Thursday night.

This week we are praying for...

- Mel Bookman's brother Bob who is in the final stages of a battle with cancer.

- Ann Kearns who is undergoing surgery today to try to alleviate the ongoing pain in her neck.

-Marj Quimby who is in the hospital for a procedure.

- Jacob Wetzle who continues to struggle with migraines and other neurological symptoms stemming from a concussion several months ago that are keeping him from school and church.

- We continue to pray for Debbie Greenberg and her family, Mary Johns and her family, and Andrew Swenck and his family who have all recently lost loved ones.

This week we are praying for...

- Mary Johns and her family after the death of her husband Harry. The memorial service will be held March 20th, at 1:30 pm, at Southminster.

-Debbie Greenberg and her family after the death of her mother.

-We continue to pray for Net Hall, Marty Griffin and Dan Bice.

I am excited to be back in Richmond just in time for one of my favorite Sundays of the year-- Youth Sunday!

I hope to see you all this weekend to support our youth as they lead us in worship.

-We give thanks that Gordy Smith is back home and doing well.

-We continue to pray for Net Hall as she udergoes therapy to regain her strength.

-We continue to pray for both Marty Griffin and Dan Bice who are recovering from surgery.

Friends,

I just received the sad news from the Presbytery of the James office that Rev. Harry Johns, husband of our wonderful interim pastor Rev. Mary Johns is now in palliative care at VCU Medical Center.

The family would appreciate your thoughts and prayers, but visits or calls would be too much at this time. You can also send a note to 3624 Perthshire Lane, Colonial Heights, VA 23834.

I know you all will join me in praying for Mary and Harry in this difficult time.

This week we are praying for:

- The family and friends of Rabbi Ben Romer, a long time leader of interfaith dialogue here in Richmond, who passed away of a sudden heart attack this week.

-Gordy Smith is at McGuire Hospital being treated for continuing difficulties with his heart.

-Matt Briggs' father is recovering from surgery.

-Marty Griffin is recovering well from her foot surgery last week.

- Dan Bice is also recovering from surgery.

-Net Hall is recovering from a small stroke and also appreciates your prayers.
