Prayers and Commitment Sunday

Brothers and Sisters,

Thank you all for a wonderful service last week-- it was great privilege to remember the many saints who have gone on to glory in this past year. This coming Sunday we will shift from finding our own hope in the promises of Jesus Christ to committing ourselves to be a part of spreading that hope to others! Don't forget to bring your 2016 Pledge Cards so that you can be a part of what God is planning for Southminster in the coming year.

I won't say too much more this week to allow you to skip right to the several prayer updates that I hope you will take the time to read and add to your personal prayer list. Better yet-- take a moment as you read this to stop and pray for each of the people and families listed below.

Peace,

Rev. Caitlin Deyerle

CROP Walk Update
Thank you! Last Sunday the Southminster Youth raised over $530 for the CROP Walk to fight hunger in Chesterfield and beyond.
This week we are praying for:

-We give thanks that Jim Dugger's surgery went well last Friday and that he is recovering smoothly.

-We pray for one of our newest members of Southmisnter Wendy Hevener who has been diagnosed with Lyme disease and is undergoing treatment.

-We pray for Ms. Gail Mallory one of our food closet clients who is caring for her 5 grandchildren after her daughter-in-law recently suffered a brain aneurysm. Ms. Mallory also has a 4 year old granddaughter dying of terminal cancer whose full story you can find here.  I give thanks that our community is able to help this family in our own small way.

- We pray for those in our community fighting cancer including Joyce Triebley, Ron Crenshaw, and Cathy Kirtley's student Tommy.

-We continue to pray for Lynn Sutton as she waits for test results.

Continuing Prayer Updates

-We pray for Margaret Hall's brother-in-law who has been given 3 months to live as a result of the aggressive brain tumor he has been battling for several months. Please keep Margaret and her family in your prayers.

- We give thanks that a spot opened up at Veritas Eating Disorder Center in North Carolina and Gracie Greenberg has been transferred there to continue to treatment in this specialized environment.

-We pray for Kathy Schiller who continues to be under hospice care. We also pray for her children, including Debbie Greenberg, who are all working hard to ensure her good care.
